 Is ICSI for Me?

ICSI may be recommended in the following scenarios:

• Repeated IVF failures
• Vasal Aplasia (TESA-ICSI)
• Obstructed Azoospermia
• Severe Oligoasthenoteratospermia (OAT)

How is the Procedure Performed?

The initial steps of ICSI mirror those of IVF, with a notable difference in step number five:

Commencement of Treatment: The process starts similar to IVF.

Ovarian Stimulation: Ovarian stimulation medications are administered as in IVF.

Follicular Monitoring: Regular vaginal ultrasounds track ovarian response, as with IVF.

HCG Trigger: This step also resembles IVF.

ICSI Procedure: Here is where ICSI differentiates; a micromanipulator is used to manually inject a morphologically normal-looking sperm into the ovum.

Embryo Formation: Sperms and eggs are combined in a specialized medium, where fertilization occurs, leading to embryo formation.

Embryo Transfer: Similar to IVF, the embryos are transferred to the uterus.

Confirmation of Pregnancy: The process concludes with the administration of supportive medications for 15 days, followed by a pregnancy test to confirm success.
